My Personal Recommendations
If you enjoy my content and would like to know where you too can sample my favourite brands please take a look at my Personal Recommendations below.
I am based in Hong Kong so several sites are the HK based site - please do also check their International sites if you live in another country.
Best Breakfast Tea
A delicious rich breakfast tea - I was attracted to it simply by the gorgeous Breakfast at Tiffany's themed design but I was in for a treat as the tea was even more fabulous than the art work!
I recommend the loose leaf tea in particular.
I've been lucky enough to sample more of their delicious teas - and they are all wonderful so take a look at their website!
Is It Art - Or Tea ?
Afternoon Tea - Hong Kong
What a treat to enjoy Afternoon Tea at the Mandarin Oriental, Hong Kong. Everything is understated and perfectly executed. There is a wonderful mix of sweet and savoury delights, the teas on offer are delicious and the service is impeccable.
I was lucky to sample the Timothy Oulton Afternoon Tea at the MO - this had the added wow from the vintage tea sets used. I enjoyed my tea in a 1952 Queen Elizabeth II tea cup (which made me feel oh so very special.)
I adore Wedgwood for modern teasets. I am lucky enough to own the Wedgwood Signet Platinum Dinner Service (which was our wedding present from all our guests) and my husband purchased some wonderful Wedgwood Tea Garden teacups for me as an anniversary present in 2018.
I am lucky to have both the Raspberry design and the Lemon & Ginger design. Both vibrant and both simply wonderful to sip tea from!
Favourite Retailer of Fine Goods
Fortnum and Mason is the most quintessentially British purveyor of fine goods. If you are lucky enough to visit their HQ in Picadilly, London, then you can easily while away hours enjoying looking at (and buying) all the things you may need to make a perfect cup of tea, and more....
Not only that, but they have their famous Diamond Jubilee Tea Room (as well as another more casual ice cream parlour on the 1st floor).
I'm able to purchase Fortnum and Mason in Hong Kong too - which is super.
Favourite Everday Teapot
The teapot I use most often is my glass 2 cup teapot from Fortnum and Mason.
It is a simply beautiful design with a silver, removable, tea diffuser. It pours so perfectly too and I can happily gaze at the gorgeous glass spout in wonder at how it was made to be so delicate but robust.
Another thing I like about having a glass teapot is the ability to watch what is brewing inside. I was so lucky to be gifted the limited edition OrTea Golden Apple Pie tea - what a treat to watch the water swirl around and all the sparkles. Fabulous ! (Look for the pictures on my Instagram account!)
Favourite Caffeine Free Tea
It's good to mix things up - and I really love to make sure I don't drink too much caffeine every day.
I was delighted to receive a big tin of Teapigs Rhubarb and Ginger tea at Christmas - not only was it a new tea for me to try - it tastes utterly fabulous.
There is a rich flavour from the rhubarb and as the tea infuses, the ginger tones strengthen. Perfect to dust away the cobwebs on a winters day (and excellent chilled for a summers day too!)
Favourite Hong Kong Themed Company
I've purchased cards, wrapping paper and Christmas decorations from The Lion Rock Press - but recently added to my mug collection with their fabulous "Can La" mug.
There's a fun mix of Asian and Hong Kong themed stationery and gifts - something for everyone, for any occasion too!
