Score: 4.3 out of 5
Recommended? YES ! The food in the afternoon tea offering is a little different to a traditional afternoon tea - but it is interesting and tasty. The team at Sevva deliver exceptionally crisp and professional service. We were warmly greeted on arrival and made to feel very special.

A warm February afternoon and a belated birthday celebration saw me skipping along to the lift to whisk me up to Sevva for afternoon tea with @APostcardFromAlice .....
We were given the option of a table inside in the casual seating area or outside on their fabulous balcony. Since the weather was warm and clear we opted for the latter and found ourselves with the whole balcony to ourselves initially.
On the menu at Sevva are premium organic tea's from Australian tea brand Penelope Sach.
I sampled the "Petals" tea and my companion sampled the Early Grey tea. We both tried one another's tea and both had the same conclusion that the premium organic tea was very disappointing lacking depth of flavour and tasting more chamomile than rose. The Earl Grey tea in contrast was delicate and refreshing with a nice bergamot aroma.
A special celebration needs an extra special touch so we also opted for a glass of cool, crisp Veuve Cliquot.
Score: 3.5 out of 5
(Earl Grey 4 out of 5 and Petals Tea 2 out of 5.......Veuve Cliquot 5 out of 5 - always!)
The cake stand arrives bursting full of different treats - a wide range of savouries on top and beautiful sweet treats at the bottom. With a Sevva afternoon tea you do not receive "one each" of everything and so must be prepared to share or agree on who will have what ...... Either way, it works!
A little too much seafood for my companion and a little more seasoning needed for me in general. Our favourite? The short rib burger - totally delicious.
During out visit, the normal menu had a few items substituted for Chinese New Year and while we enjoyed them, it was a real shame to miss out on some of the sweet treats we had been looking forward to trying.
The Sevva afternoon tea does not include scones, cream and jam. While this is the symbol of afternoon tea indulgence for many, it didn't detract from our experience - and on the positive side meant we didn't blow so many calories!
Score: 4.5 out of 5
Sevva is a super venue - on the top floor of the Princes Building in what was a rich kids apartment in years past. The bar and restaurant look out over a balcony which wraps around the building. The view is second to none.
